Ecka And Doza
The inspiration for this painting came from an old, outdoor dunny that I saw on a neighbouring property whilst living near Dorrigo, NSW. An elderly couple, Eric and Doreen, owned the property and the fairy-wren pair reminded me of this lovely old man and his sweet wife.

Wren In The Roses
I painted “Wren in the Roses” during a time when I was drawing much inspiration from local gardens and the birds that frequented them. Superb Blue Fairy-wrens are a very familiar resident of gardens throughout much of the East Coast of Australia.

Country Picnic
Driving home one day I noticed this old wooden box amongst the dandelions. I immediately had a vision of fairy-wrens sitting atop of it and knew it had to become a painting!

Mystic Moments
The inspiration for this painting came during time spent on the Fraser Island Coast in Queensland. The beauty of the Regent Bowerbird has captivated me ever since my first encounter with these spectacular birds and I simply knew that the misty backdrop of the QLD rainforest was the perfect setting for this painting.
Gouldian Finches
Among the world’s most beautifully coloured birds, the Gouldian Finch is not that often seen in the wild. Unfortunately they eluded me during my time spent in the Northern Territory, however their stunning beauty inspired me to paint them anyway.
Sacred Kingfishers
I have always loved these gorgeous little kingfishers and knew that the roots of a paperbark tree would be the perfect setting for this painting. Sacred Kingfishers frequent such places along riverbanks, whilst both hunting for resting and hunting for prey. After completing the painting of both kingfishers I decided it needed a little more, which led me to add the butterfly.
